Movies!

After raving about the lack of movie partners, I finally got to watch 2 movies in a row. =) First up, Eagle Eye!

To be honest it was never my intention to watch it. The trailer is exhilarating for some, but to me it just looked like some mindless action movie. But when I watched it, that's when I felt that it was reallllyy good! The kind of maneuvers that the "person" can control was amazing, and it kinda felt like some game, real life style. Highly entertaining, but then not that realistic although I definitely believe that people's phone and information transmitted are being monitored.

*spoilers*
The message that the movie is trying to get across is kinda obvious though. Not the first movie that is trying to put this across. Personally, it would probably be a better time to make an impact to the audience with the message if it had been out at the point of time where the war was most prominent in the news. And the action of Aria will probably hit home to a larger extent. And funny that they would think what "she" did was too extreme, but then again she is just following what she was being programmed to do. And interestingly, being a character with so much controlling power, she is portrayed as a female. Controlling, wants her way no matter what she'll have to do to get it, an extremist. Do I sniff something?
*end spoilers*

Next was Painted Skin.

The story was touching, the acting was good. Zhen Zhi Dan provided more comic relief than I expected. The scene when Vicki Zhao died was so moving, I cried buckets! Sigh. Such pretty love will never happen in real life, we agreed. But it was so heartbreaking when Chen Kun looked so lost and struck by sorrow. Awwww. Zhou Xun looks like a kid, which I guess is just what guys like, from ages ago til now. 715 was good! I kinda like his look in the movie, looking cool and evil. Haha.

Connected later in the day! I still havent caught Mama Mia though. Bah.
